Thanks the remarkable number of teams, the formidable organisation, the high level of the sport and the good luck with the weather, the GENSB tournament in Huttwil, Switzerland was a beautiful success. 47 teams over all, 37 from the GENSB countries and 10 from the guest countries Sweden, Latvia, Ireland and South Africa started into the tournament on Saturday, 26th August 2006.

After the round robin 16 teams were qualified for the next round. Most of them the same like last year. For them the tournament started again, because each of them had the possibility to win the tournament. After another two rounds of matches four teams were left for the semi-finals: Valleitrekkers and Lagerwey from the Netherlands, Drostdy from South Africa and Appenzell from Switzerland. The Valleitrekkers had to compete against Drostdy and Lagerwey against Appenzell. Drostdy and Lagerwey won their matches, Drostdy with three, Lagerwey with two pulls. The Final Drostdy against Lagerwey won Lagerwey in tow pulls and the Valleitrekkers won against Appenzell the bronze medal.
